Our History
CVC began in 1997 with seven families. The present building was completed and the church began meeting in the new facility in 2001. The church has continued to increase in number and in spiritual strength.
In March of 2007, CV celebrated its 10 year anniversary. A booklet was written for the occasion with details of the church's history, as well as pictures and names of many of those involved over the years. Click on the 10 year reunion logo below to view the eight page document in pdf format. Since it is such a large file, it may save time to download it first to your computer, but you can open it directly from the website if you prefer.

Tim and Sara Randolph worked as Youth Ministers in the summer of 2007. In the fall of 2007, the congregation took two very significant steps of faith. First, it was decided to raise money to help evangelists in Mauritius Island purchase one (if possible two) new vehicles for their important work. See the exciting story under the "Church Life" tab, then "Missions" tab. The second big step was the decision to expand our staff, hiring Tim Randolph as our full time Youth Minister. The Randolphs arrived in January 2008. God has richly blessed both of these steps of faith.
In both 2008 and 2009, the church prepared for the year by having a church brain storming session, choosing several "Resolutions" for the year, and starting the year with a "Resolution Sunday." The theme for 2008 was "Live the Light."

Ministries for "Military Appreciation" and "Community Service" were begun and are still on-going. Four "Bring-a-Friend" Days were organized, and we have continued to have these special days each year since. Small groups have been re-organized each year also, as "Life Groups," then "Hospitality Groups," then "Connect Groups." All the other ministries of the church continue to function and each year receiving new impetus, new ideas, and new volunteers as we rally behind the theme for the year.
2008 went so well, it was decided to coninue most of the same resolutions In 2009, emphasizing doing all the ministries and initiatives with excellence. The theme was "Passport to Excellence."

The results both years was enthusiastic participation by everyone, and growth by God's grace--spiritual growth as well as numerical and financial.
In 2010, the theme of "Connections" was chosen. We were challenged to improve our connections with God, with each other, and with the community. The logo for 2010 was a tree.

The tree is a symbol of connections as the roots, trunk, branches, and leaves are all connected yet have different functions. Jesus often talked of trees and other plants to convey truths about the Kingdom of heaven.
One of the highlights of 2010 was the "Shepherd's Staff" group, created to give older children and young teens the opportunity to convey God's truths to younger children through songs, skits, puppets, stories, games, and other activities. The group has continued to expand their ministry to local community service organizations and has even made some trips to other cities.
