Chattahoochee Valley Church
"A Church of Christ for the Valley Community"
Dear Church Family,
After much prayer and discussion, and in concern for our church family, the elders and ministers have decided to cancel church services for tomorrow. Until further notice, all future events will be put on hold. We will review this weekly until the coronavirus crisis subsists.
This has been a very hard decision because we fervently believe not just that the Lord is with us individually, but that he wants us to gather in fellowship with one another.
We will continue to live stream a message and a time for communion on Facebook. We hope to also incorporate the beautiful worship and singing we have at CVC beginning next week. Please also consider continuing to give to the church either via mailing a check to the church building or simply using our paypal: https://www.cvcfamily.com/giving. I will also send out weekly prayer lists to everyone as well as some devotional thoughts on Wednesday. We encourage anyone who would like to encourage others to please do so, either through facebook or email.
In these trying times, let’s not forget that the Lord is in control---put your faith in him, because he will never fail you. As Deuteronomy 31:6 states,
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Let’s also be careful to not forget those that may not have family support all around them. Please try to think of those that may be alone and reach out to them so that they know we love them and are thinking about them.
In the coming days, I will send out more information about ways we can help serve one another, but until then, here are a few ways:
There may be times in the next couple of months where the situation causes people who are not normally in need to suddenly need essentials. Beginning this afternoon, you can bring non-perishable essential items to the church to be stored for those in need. Please feel free to put them in my office. If people become in need, I or one of the younger members here, like Michael or Lyz will be able to bring them to you. If you need supplies, please feel free to check my office and take what you need.
Likewise, the elders are also creating a family care groups list that I should be able to email to everyone Monday or Tuesday. We are going to group the congregation into care groups of 4-5 families including an elder or deacon so that we are able to keep track of everyone. You will have someone that you can contact and know that they are looking out for you.
At the end of the day, I want everyone to remember that even if we can’t be physically together, that doesn’t mean that we can’t fellowship, commune, and love one another. We will do everything we possibly can to help one another through this and we will always remember that God is in control.
In His Love, always
